We are having a series of important guild meetings next week. Every member should try to attend one.
The meetings will be:
Thursday June 22 at 9 a.m. - South Portland, upper hallway
Thursday, June 22 at noon - One City Center Food Court conference room
Thursday, June 22 at 5 p.m. - One City Center, Food Court conference room
Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m. - South Portland, mailroom
We have some important business to take care of, starting with an authorization vote to reduce dues rates from 1.4 percent to .9 percent.
We will also be distributing printed copies of our contract, the first time we have been able to do that in almost a decade,
And we need to start an important conversation about the direction of our union going forward.
Talk to your co-workers, especially those who don’t have email, and encourage them to come to one of the meetings.
Employees hired after June 2015 who have not signed up as members are invited to come and can speak, but cannot vote.
