Membership meeting to discuss elections and negotiations

There will be Guild membership meetings next week to establish the final slate of candidates running for election as Guild officers. The Guild Negotiations Committee will also provide an update on the progress of ongoing talks.

During the nomination process, multiple people sought to nominate a member who has fallen out of good standing for failure to pay dues. Anyone who wishes to run or make a nomination must be a member in good standing. Members have the opportunity to return to good standing between now and next week’s meetings. Usually, non-paying members are welcome at Guild meetings as guests, but these meetings will be open only to members in good standing. Nominations may be made from the floor.

In the case of contested races, the Elections Committee will run an election using paper ballots.

If there are no contested races, the slate of candidates will be elected by acclamation.

Following is the slate of candidates who have declared they are running:

President: Tom Bell
Vice President: Greg Kesich
Treasurer: Ken Jones
Secretary: Christian MilNeil
Unit Chair: Ed Murphy

The Executive Board proposes that the Unit Chair receive a stipend of $200 per pay period, subject to approval by membership.

In addition, the following at-large Executive Board members appointed by the President will continue to serve: David Tripp, Susan Bragdon, David Northrup and Matt Byrne.
